and being in the best condition of your life.

Let me RE-INTRODUCE my X-Trainer, Moses!

Last month I brought you a play by play of who I chose to hire
as my trainer, what he did to me, and how it all worked out.
Well, I’ve found out a few things since then and Oh Brother! You
won’t believe who Moses really is! Let me fill you in…

Moses isn’t just some big, bad tough guy who likes training
women like they’re 16 year old boys! He’s a winner of the
American Drug-Free Power Lifting Association! He had broken
four world records on his way to winning that title and he did all
this at the age of 43! You see, my trainer is Moses Battles. I had
no idea I was being trained by a pro. (It’s a wonder he didn’t kill
me!)
Karen Voight
Once I had mastered the
tapes from Denise
Austin, I was ready to
bump it up a bit and was
fortunate enough to find
Karen Voight. She's
straight forward,
focused, deliberate and
will define your body like
no other. I got in terrific
shape when following
her routines. She has
cds for all levels.  If you
need to put some
freshness into a workout,
try her cds. I don't
believe you can go
wrong.
Jordan's Tip of the Day
From the author of "The Maker's Diet"
Healing Recipe of the Week: Broiled Eggplant

Eggplants are amazingly versatile and can be grilled, baked, stir-fried, or added to soups,
sauces, and stews. This simple recipe, however, proves that they don't require fussy or
elaborate preparation to taste delicious.
2 medium eggplants
Salt
1/4 cup olive oil
Pepper

Peel eggplant if skin is thick or tough. Cut eggplant into 3/4-inch-thick slices. Remove the bitter juices by sprinkling both sides of each
slice generously with salt, and arrange in a single layer on several thicknesses of paper towel. Cover with several more paper towels.
Top with a baking sheet and weight it with several large cans. Let stand at room temperature 30 minutes, then rinse eggplant and blot
dry. Heat the broiler. Brush each slice on both sides with olive oil and sprinkle with pepper. Broil, turning once, until sizzling and tender,
about 3 to 5 minutes per side.

Incredible, Edible Eggplant
There are many kinds of eggplant — large and small, purple, white, green, and variegated. Though they range widely in texture and
sweetness, they're all good for you and you can have fun experimenting with the different colors and flavors. Next time you get the
chance, try a new variety, whether it's a long, skinny Chinese eggplant or the round and green kind popular in Thai cooking.

Fabulous and Fit!
According to the Osceola News Gazette in Kissimmee, Florida, he
“broke world records in the squat (843) bench press (446, dead lift (622)… His best totals are 875 squat, 496
bench press, 710.5 dead lift and 2,026 total effort.” Moses was quoted saying, “I really wanted it.”

Today you’ll find Moses working as a personal trainer with Maximum Gym in Kissimmee, Florida, doing the
same thing he did for me with a bunch of people who are fed up with the way they look and feel. As a matter
of fact, he has agreed to take me back on as a client. I know… I know… But I ‘think’ Moses has learned a few
things about women in the past few years… When sitting down to talk to him I believe I saw a new level of
sensitivity in looking closer at the person when determining the level of fitness to begin with. I could be
wrong… but if I am… you and everyone else will hear about !

I went to the gym to take some photos and talk with a few of his clients and this is what I found to be true. A
LOT of people in their 50’s are finally coming back to the gym to take off 10 years. Most have worked out at
some point in their life and have been found to have fallen off the wagon for one reason or another. I also
saw parents who are getting back into shape and bringing the kids with them! Finally! Parents are getting off
their duffs and setting examples to their own children by living healthy lifestyles! We all get lazy now and then,
but when we live by setting the example, the kids will follow. I LOVED seeing that going on at the gym.

How to get started...
Step number one: Figure out how long to make each work out.  I have always kept to about 60 to 90 minutes for  warming up/working
out/cooling off. It's just worked for me. You may be different.

Second step: Determine the days that I can commit to working out.  I will not work out on a Sunday… no ifs ands or buts. So I when I
look at the days of the week and remember that I cannot workout in the mornings, I know it has to be 5 or after. (If you wonder why I can’t
work out in the mornings, it’s because I shower at night. In the mornings I wouldn’t have the time to shower again and be dressed and
ready to roll for the day)… Men, on the other hand, don’t have that issue. Working out in the mornings works much better for the male
counterpart.  Actually a trainer once told me that men are strongest in the early hours of the day.

Step three: Let me look at the days… Mondays & Tuesdays are good to go. Wednesday is church. Thursdays & Fridays are good.
Saturdays are usually spent in activities like cleaning the house, mowing the yard (I use a push mower for the exercise) and that in
itself suffices as a good work out. So I have Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday to dedicate to working out in a serious, rigorous
environment. Keep in mind you can mix up your workout! I'll be in the gym minimally  three days a week. The fourth day may be spent in
some type of weighted aerobics and the fifth day is spent working on the yard. One day resting. Mix it up... have some fun!

Now, you do the same. Determine the workout length… Look at your style of living and determine the time of day best suited to your
schedule and lastly, add the days you’re really ready to commit to working out.

Lastly, I’ve got to add this and it’s probably the best information I can give to you. Don’t start something like this unless you’re ready
to commit to a lifestyle of health. Sure, you might be able to do something like this for a season and get in great shape, but why lose it?
Take it from someone whose weight has yoyo'd over the years! It’s hard on your body to lean up, then fatten up, then lean up, then fatten
up. Skin is elastic for a season and you’ll find you can retain the elasticity much longer if you stay lean. I regret not keeping in shape.
Not only for my appearance, but also for the health issues. When a person is in shape, life is just better, wouldn't you agree? At the very
least you'll get more whistles from construction workers ladies!

Today, I have a lump on my throat. From all appearances it's the Thyroid so my mind is at ease. However, the Thyroid can really mess
with a body's metabolism and I've got to be honest here... I NEED MEDICATION! NOW! The 'plan' was to have started working out with
Moses beginning on May 1st, however since I've got this medical issue, I wanted to wait until we nip it in the bud before starting. I want
an honest look into how a 50 year old can regain health and if my Thyroid was going to mess up my results, then my workouts wouldn't
show you what you really can accomplish in a very short time. In the meantime, I'm walking and bike riding to get my stamina rolling
again before Moses begins with me.

I want you to walk this out with me. If you live in the Kissimmee area and need some motivation to get you started, or you'd like to join
me in my quest for health, email me
HERE! Let's see how we can recapture some youth, take off some inches and finish the rest of our
lives healthy and wise. Are you game? Let me know!

As always, see your Doctor before beginning ANY serious workout regiments! Especially if you're 40 or older. Folks, things happen
to our bodies as we age and your Doctor's advice could save your life! So get checked out to make sure everything is in proper
working order.

Moses rose to the top with a passion to reach his goals. We have to do the same. Are you ready?

to find out about THE
BOX. Now I PROMISE
you, when he had me
using THE BOX, it was
DOUBLE this height!
Moses told me it was the
exact same box... But I'm
telling you what I trained
on had flames licking the
sides of it, it was so tall.
"I hate the word can't!"
says Moses as he
shows a client she
CAN if she tries.

One of my favorite
sayings is... Whether
you think you can or
you think you can't,
you're right.

Don't let your own
limited thoughts keep
you from reaching
your true goals.
