STATE PARK TO HOST DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS
JUNE 8TH
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State
Park will host a digital photography workshop on Monday, June 8 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Taught by professional photographer Don Williams, the workshops will teach participants how to
create a photographic composition, the shooting effects of color and black and white images,
flash usage, depth of field, linear perspective in two dimensional photography and exposure
priorities and settings. Computer programming combined with hands-on outdoor photography
sessions will enhance student photography skills. Workshop fees are $25.00 per workshop,
including park admission. Participants should bring a film or digital camera. No computers are

Gainesville, Kanapaha's 14th Annual Fall Plant Sale & Orchid Show
October 10  & 11
Each October, Kanapaha Botanical Gardens holds an Open House & Fall Plant Sale, inviting
visitors to see the facility ADMISSION FREE. Kanapaha Botanical Gardens formally opened to the
public in October of 1987 and the Open House is a means of celebrating our 'birthday.' In
addition to viewing the botanical gardens, approximately 40 booth will be set up selling a wide
variety of plants. For the second time, the Americal Orchid Society's judged orchid show will
coincide with the Fall Plant Sale and will take place inside Kanapaha's entrance building. Pets
are not allowed at these festivals.
